Focusing on what art’s really about.
What is MiRO?
The Program
A creative icebreaker that brings people together while fusing art forms. MiRO pushes the boundaries of artistic experimentation while spotlighting emerging music artists.
The Project
A unique take on live music performance, distinguished by its use of VFX.
The place to take risks.
Inspired by Joan Miró’s playful approach to surrealism, the foundation behind this program is the idea that artists can craft their own limitless worlds by combining VFX with other mediums.
Art should make you feel something.
With the overwhelming flood of media content that is being put out – whether that’s in businesses or entertainment – the world has shifted dramatically to quantity over quality.
This has put many artists – especially those who do art for a living – in a difficult position. There are external pressures and expectations from vast audiences — even from millions of people they’ve never even met.
And if the goal is to keep spitting out content to satisfy an algorithmic requirement, then who are we making art for?
MiRO offers us something more — a chance to break free from those constraints. It’s an opportunity to feel truly inspired by the process of creation and rediscovering what makes us feel alive as creators.
It’s to simply enjoy the craft.
The Vision
The idea here is to provide an opportunity for artists to come together and create without hesitation. You’re making art for the sake of art—and for yourself. Want to do something you’ve never tried before? Now’s the time, here’s the place. There’s no one to impress here. It’s not about views, likes, or stats. It’s about being able to make whatever the heck you want, with a team in full throttle alongside you, and the space and resources to make it happen.
Started by two artists that just wanted to fall back in love with their craft again.
As creators making art for a living, many of us have experienced this: You work on projects for clients and, over time, find yourself in a familiar routine. The work starts to feel monotonous, with projects blending together and opportunities for creative exploration taking a back seat. Ultimately, the client’s vision drives the project.
At some point, we realized we were focusing more on the end product (and yes, there’s nothing wrong with caring about the final result), but the problem was that the passion for the process itself was fading. The excitement to open a new page in our sketchbook, pick up our camera, or fire up our software just wasn’t there anymore. Of course, there are tough moments, and overcoming them is what’s so exciting and motivating, but losing the spark to even begin? Now that’s a problem.
To be clear, we value every project we’ve had the privilege to work on and take pride in the results we’ve achieved, but we were craving projects with no limits—projects that allowed our creativity to run wild. While we worked on smaller side projects independently, we felt like there was more to explore. We knew that the best work—no, the truly remarkable work—comes from collaboration. A team, bringing together diverse talents, can create something far bigger than what any one person could alone. Plus, what could be more exciting than putting a bunch of art-hungry people together? When you’re given the freedom to create, the resources to do so, the right subject matter, and surrounded by like-minded, hungry individuals, that’s when the real magic happens.
So, here’s the question: When was the last time you created something for yourself?
